Day 1:
Day Trip to El Alamein

Your Allover Egypt tour guide will pick you up from your hotel in Alexandria to travel to El Alamein.
Step back in time to the battle of El Alamein of World War II on a private day trip from Alexandria. Enjoy a scenic drive west to El Alamein on Egypt’s Mediterranean coast, and hear about the Western Desert campaign fought by Allied and Axis forces in 1942 from your knowledgeable guide.
Start your day tour with El Alamein Military Museum, this museum is an excellent introduction to the North African campaigns of WWII, including the Battle of El Alamein. The museum has separate halls dedicated to the four main countries involved in the war: Great Britain, Italy, Germany, and Egypt. Another hall contains collections of memorabilia, uniforms, photos, and maps. On display, outside is a range of tanks and artillery from the battlefield.
Your next stop will be The Cemeteries. The famous Commonwealth cemetery, entered by the Alamein Memorial, contains the graves of soldiers from many nations who fought on the British side in the Western Desert Campaign as well as monuments commemorating New Zealand, Australian, and South African forces. You’ll also make a visit to the Italian and German cemeteries.
Then drive back to your hotel in Alexandria.
